Understanding your care
At ProMED Wellness Centre, laser therapy may be used as an adjunct to physiotherapy for certain muscle, joint and soft-tissue concerns. It uses targeted light energy applied to the affected area by a qualified clinician.
Your physiotherapist will first assess your symptoms, movement, health history and treatment goals. If laser therapy is considered appropriate, it may be incorporated alongside active rehabilitation, education, hands-on care or other elements of your plan.
Laser therapy is not suitable for every condition or every person. Your clinician can explain its potential role, expected sensations and any relevant precautions before treatment begins.

WHEN TO CONSIDER CARE
Care is guided by your assessment findings, daily activities, goals and relevant health considerations rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
It may be considered for some muscle, tendon, joint or soft-tissue symptoms when clinically appropriate.
Laser therapy may be paired with therapeutic exercise and movement-based strategies that support function and self-management.
The treatment is applied externally to the skin and does not involve injections or surgery.
Your physiotherapist can monitor your response and modify the treatment approach as your symptoms and function change.
Your clinician can review whether laser therapy is appropriate for you and discuss any areas or circumstances where it should be avoided.

Ask our team ↗Laser therapy is a treatment that uses targeted light energy applied to the body. In physiotherapy, it may be used as one component of a broader plan for certain musculoskeletal concerns.
A physiotherapist may consider laser therapy for some muscle, joint, tendon and soft-tissue symptoms. Whether it is appropriate depends on your assessment, health history, symptoms and goals.
It is often considered alongside other physiotherapy strategies, such as exercise, movement education and hands-on treatment where appropriate. Your care plan should reflect your individual needs.
Many people do not report pain during treatment, though individual experiences can vary. Let your physiotherapist know if you feel discomfort or have concerns at any point.
The number of visits, if any, varies depending on your condition, goals, response to care and the rest of your treatment plan. Your physiotherapist can discuss a reasonable approach after your assessment.
Yes. Laser therapy is not appropriate in every situation. Your physiotherapist will review relevant health information and screen for precautions before recommending treatment.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows the area being assessed or treated to be accessed when needed. Your privacy and comfort should be respected throughout your visit.
Laser therapy is generally considered an adjunct rather than a replacement for a comprehensive physiotherapy plan. Exercise, activity guidance and other strategies may be important for improving movement and managing symptoms.
